My primary role as a psychologist is provide an engaging and supportive context in which you can safely explore your needs and obstacles for the purpose of growing skills for actions necessary for unlocking your potential. In that vein, I provide assessment and psychotherapeutic services for individuals, couples, families and groups. I am competent to treat children as young as 18 months of age and adults as matured as 100+ years of age.
I provide psychotherapeutic services for a wide variety of concerns and for a wide variety of people.
Services for Children
For children as young as 18 months of age through adolescent years, I provide a variety of counseling and assessment services. I attempt to collaborate with children and their families to promote desired outcomes for growth and improved well-being. I can work individually with a child client or with siblings, when appropriate.
Regarding therapy, I am competent to provide services in individual and group formats, and such services may take the form of conventional "talk therapy" or play therapy. Children often process emotional, cognitive, and behavioral experiences and dynamics through play, and so therapy utilizing that "language" can be powerful for promoting growth and change when done through research-proven methods.
I can and often help children with concerns related to anxiety, depression, behavior management/modification, grief/loss, recovery from trauma, stress management, coping skills, social skills, self-esteem, self-regulation (i.e., ADHD), anger management, substance-related concerns, family conflict, and court-related concerns among others.
Given my formal training experiences, I'm also competent to provide applied behavior analysis as a licensed psychologist to children who might benefit from such intervention, including children with intellectual and developmental concerns.
I am also competent to provide a wide variety of psychological evaluation services for children for the following purposes: general diagnostic, personality, ADHD, kindergarten readiness, intellectual and developmental concerns, response to intervention, fire risk evaluations (fire-setter), psychosexual evaluations (for juvenile sexual offenders), and certification/decertification, among others.
